Troubleshooting for logitech pro 9000 webcam?

I just got my new logitech pro 9000 webcam and I can't get the picture clear enough to focus on details such as the lines in my abs, or bumps in various parts of my clothing. I would also like to take still photos to post on twitter but this feature is also not working. Has anyone else had similar problems with this model?
