Questions about Thailand?

Hi my boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Thailand. It will just be for a week or two. We have heard about these luxury private villas with pools by the beach. Has anyone stayed in one?We want to be right next to the beach. Can you reccomend anywhere? We are planning to go in Aug/Sept, as it's rainy season we expect it to be cheaper, so if you know where to hunt for a bargain please let me know. I don't know much about Thailand but we are hoping, despite the rain, we may get a glimpse of the blue sea and amazing beaches on the odd day.
