I definitely think he likes you. Or, he's trying to establish a good friendship with you. Sometimes, boys are confusing. Id just straight out ask him if he liked me. I mean what could go wrong, he denies it, and gets disgusted? He doesn't sound like the type to behave that way. Maybe he really does like that girl he mentions, then again maybe he doesn't. Like I said, I'd bring it up with him. The best way to find out if he likes you, is asking him, himself. Sure it can be hard, trying to figure out what to say, but then at least you'll know for sure.
